Resignation Letter
A standard letter to formally notify your employer. Fill it out online and export, or download a file.
What is a resignation letter?
A resignation letter is a short document an employee gives an employer to formally announce they are leaving. There is no legally required format, but clearly stating the company, recipient, your name and your last day keeps handover and offboarding smooth.
Example
June 20, 2026 Acme, Inc. HR / Jamie Lee, Manager Dear Jamie Lee, I am writing to formally resign from my position as Sales Associate, effective July 31, 2026. Thank you for the opportunity and support during my time here. Sincerely, Alex Kim
Tips
- Spell the company name and recipient correctly.
- Choose a last day that allows time for handover (often two weeks).
- Keep the reason brief — details are not required.
- Keep a copy for your records.
